This month of september I will be present in two conventions on Spain. There will be signing sessions and other activities, and there will be also prints for sale with several of my artworks. Dates and timetables will be showed below.

Nocturna

Nocturna es un volumen único de 96 páginas, a un precio de 19,50 euros. Recopilatorio de imágenes antiguas y recientes, muchas de ellas inéditas hasta la fecha, reúne temas que van desde la fantasia y el gótico hasta el género steampunk. Nuestra anfitriona a través de las páginas será la personificación de la tríada o diosa triple, común en mitologías de todo el mundo y conocida por mil nombres distintos. Ella nos guiará en un relato único a través del tiempo, mostrando sus tres caras en su papel de tejedora del destino.

Una de las novedades que ofrece Nocturna es la ampliación de partes de las ilustraciones, mostrando las obras a tamaños nunca antes vistos, donde se podrá apreciar cada mínimo detalle de la imagen, algo que los lectores llevaban mucho tiempo solicitando.

Nocturna será publicado en la segunda semana de junio 2011 -si no surgen contratiempos- de la mano de la editorial Alberto Santos, también conocida por Imagica Ediciones. Estará disponible en tiendas especializadas y tiendas online. El libro será presentado en la Feria del Libro de Madrid, en la que se harán sesiones de firmas.

También aprovecho para notificar mi presencia en la Feria del Libro de Madrid durante el último fin de semana de ésta, en la que además acudiré a la presentación del próximo libro de Laura Gallego, titulado Donde los árboles cantan. En esta presentación se mostrará la portada del libro, en la que he estado trabajando durante las últimas semanas.

I'm about to publish a new artbook: Nocturna is a one volume artbook of 96 pages, that show old and new artworks, a lot of them never published before, with themes of fantasy, gothic, steampunk and more. Our hostess through the pages will be the triad or triple goddess, a common figure reference in several mythologies all over the world. She will guide us in a story through time, showing her three faces as the spinner of life. The book will also contain close-ups of artworks, showing every detail of the images.

Nocturna will be published in Spain on june 2011. I'm still working on the possible translation and publication in other countries. I hope it will be available in other languages soon, wish me luck =).

In Spain I will have some signing sessions at the release of the book, on the Book Fair of Madrid. I will also be present there at the presentation of Donde los árboles cantan, a new book by Laura Gallego which cover I had been working on lately.

OtakuWorld Weekend

This next weekend, on 26 and 27 of march 2011, is going to take place the OtakuWorld Weekend on Tenerife Island (Spain). Two days full of activities on the cinema Victor of Santa Cruz. I will be there doing some signing sessions; schelude is still on the air, but I hope the organization will let you know during this week in their official website =). If you're going to be on Tenerife this weekend, it will be a pleasure to spend some time with you ;).

El próximo fin de semana, del 26 al 27 de marzo 2011, se celebrará en Tenerife el OtakuWorld Weekend. Un fin de semana de diversas actividades que tendrán lugar en el cine Victor de Santa Cruz. Acudiré como invitada al evento y haré sesiones de firmas. Los horarios aún no están claros, pero espero que os puedan informar a lo largo de la semana en la web oficial del evento =). Si vais a estar el fin de semana en Tenerife, será un placer pasar un rato con vosotros ;).

V Salón del Cómic y Manga de Castilla y León

Next weekend, on 12 and 13 of march 2011, I will be present at the V Comic and Manga Convention of Castilla y León (Valladolid, Spain). The event is going to take place on the building of Feria de Muestras of Valladolid, from 11:30 to 20:30 h. There will be a lot of activities around that you can check on the Convention website.
I will have some signing sessions on saturday. Signing schedule is from 11:30 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00 h on the first floor hall, but you have to check there for the final signing schedule of each author.

El próximo fin de semana, 12 y 13 de marzo 2011, estaré presente en el V Salón del Cómic y Manga de Castilla y León que se celebrará en Valladolid. El evento tendrá lugar en esta ocasión en el edificio de la Feria de Muestras de Valladolid, de 11:30 a 20:30 horas. Habrá muchas actividades durante estos días y la presente semana, toda la información la podéis encontrar en la página web del Salón.
Tendré sesiones de firmas en el Salón el sábado. Los horarios oficiales son de 11:30 a 14:00 y de 16:00 a 20:00 horas en el Hall de la primera planta, pero tendréis que preguntar allí por los horarios concretos de cada autor. Espero veros allí =).

Expocomic 2010

This weekend I will be present at Expocomic 2010 in Madrid (Spain), from 9 to 12 of december. This year's convention will be celebrated at Pabellón de Cristal of Casa de Campo and there will be several signing sessions with the organization and Norma Editorial. I must say that I'm still in rehab for my wrist sprain and I will only be able to do a limited number of sketchs during singning sessions, it will depend on my hand. La convención se celebrará este año en el Pabellón de Cristal de la Casa de Campo y habrá varias sesiones de firmas con la organización y el stand de Norma Editorial. Debo advertir que todavía estoy en rehabilitación por mi tendinitis y la cantidad de dibujos que realice durante las sesiones de firmas será limitada y dependerá de mi condición de salud.

II Steampunk Convention // II Convencion Steampunk

This weekend, 13 and 14 of november, is gonna be celebrated the II Steampunk Convention in Barcelona (Spain). In this event you will find exhibitions, roleplaying games, talks and all kind of activities steampunk and dieselpunk related. As I love this genre and my next projects will be full of steampunk artworks, it was a pleasure for me to be part of a collective art exhibition, where two of my works will be seen. Unfortunately, I will cannot be present on the convention this time. You can find more info about all activities and scheludes here.

Este fin de semana, el 13 y 14 de noviembre, se celebra en Barcelona la II Convención Steampunk y Retrofuturista. En este evento encontraréis exposiciones, juegos de rol, conferencias, talleres y muchas más actividades relacionadas con el steampunk y el dieselpunk.

Creo haber comentado en alguna ocasión que el género steampunk me apasiona, y muchos de los proyectos en los que estoy trabajando en este momento son precisamente de esta temática. Por eso es un placer para mí participar en la convención de este año dentro de la exposición de arte colectiva que forma parte del programa. Allí podréis encontrar dos de mis ilustraciones. II Festival de cine de terror y fantástico de Peligros (Granada)

From 28 to 31 of october 2010 takes place in Peligros (Granada, Spain) the II Festival of fantastic and horror film. As guest of this festival, I will be present on the activities that will take place this weekend. There will be an exhibition of my artworks in the Pablo Neruda theater. Also, there will be a signing session on the comic store Shazam on saturday 30 from 18:00 h.

On sunday 31, at 22:00 h, will take place an encounter with all guest on Pablo Neruda theater, and the ceremony of prizes. In this event I will receive a prize for my work in fantasy field.You will find info about the event here and here.

Del 28 al 31 de octubre de 2010 se celebra en Peligros (Granada) el II Festival de cine fantástico y de terror. Como invitada a este evento, acudiré a las diferentes actividades que se celebrarán durante el fin de semana. En el Teatro Pablo Neruda habrá una exposición con algunas de mis obras. Además habrá una sesión de firmas en la tienda Shazam el sábado 30 a partir de las 18:00 h.
El domingo 31, a partir de las 22:00 h, se celebrará en el Teatro Pablo Neruda un encuentro con los invitados y la gala de entrega de premios. En esta edición he sido galardonada con un premio por mi aportación a la fantasía.Encontraréis la programación del evento aqui y más información aqui.

Announcement about next events // Comunicado respecto a eventos

Due to some health issues, I will have to cancel my visit to some of the conventions scheluded for the next weeks. I'm very sorry that this happened just now, but although I tried to find alternate solutions, none of them was good enough.

The reason for this cancellation is that I will not be able to do any signing sesions, due to a strong wrist sprain in my rigth hand that doesn't let me use it at all. I really hope to be better in a few weeks and be able to assist to other events and continue my work in the projects and commissions that are waiting for me.

I want to apologize for this problem to my readers and the organizations of the conventions; to the people that went to Imagina Málaga and found out that I had to cancel my signing sessions (I hope I will can compensate you in another occassion); to the people that were waiting to meet me in Frankfurt, since I will cannot go there now (hope we can meet next year instead) and sorry if I cannot be present in any other event for this same reason.

Thanks a lot for your support and patience. I hope to be ok again very soon. Big Hugs!

Debido a problemas de salud no me será posible acudir a algunos de los eventos que estaban previstos para estas próximas semanas. Lamento mucho que haya ocurrido en unas fechas tan señaladas, pero a pesar de todos mis esfuerzos no ha habido manera de solucionar las cosas.

La razón de mi falta de asistencia es que no me será posible realizar sesiones de firmas debido a una tendinitis bastante fuerte en mi mano derecha que no me permite uso alguno de esta mano. Espero que esta situación mejore en las próximas semanas y pueda estar pronto disponible para asistir al resto de eventos y continuar con los trabajos y encargos que estaban pendientes.

Quiero pedir disculpas por esta situación a los seguidores de mi trabajo y a los organizadores de los eventos; a la gente que acudió a Imagina Malaga y se encontró con que tuve que cancelar las sesiones de firmas (espero poder compensaroslo en otra ocasión); a la gente que estaba pendiente de mi presencia en Frankfurt, feria a la que ya no podré acudir (cuento con poder asistir el próximo año a cambio) y disculpas adelantadas si no me es posible acudir a otros eventos por esta misma razón.

Gracias por vuestro apoyo y paciencia. Espero volver a estar en forma muy pronto. Un fuerte abrazo.

Masterclass en Radikal Comics School

Durante los próximos 21 y 22 de mayo impartiré un masterclass en ilustración en la escuela Radikal Comics School de Málaga. Para comenzar habrá una presentación en Fnac Málaga Plaza (Armengual de la Mota, 12) a las 17:00 h, a la que todo el mundo puede acudir. La presentación incluirá audiovisuales, presentación del libro Forgotten 3 y muestras de realización de ilustraciones paso a paso.

El sábado 22 tendrá lugar la masterclass, con duración de 6 horas repartidas entre la mañana y la tarde. El horario será de 11:00 a 14:00 y de 16:00 a 19:00, a un precio de 50 €. La clase enfatizará en la mejora y aprovechamiento de los recursos de Photoshop y el enfoque profesional de la ilustración digital, entre otras cosas. Se recomienda a los alumnos que lleven consigo una ilustración digital que deseen mejorar y una imagen preparada para empezar a trabajar en color (puede ser un boceto o una idea). Forgotten 3 & Expomanga

My third artbook, Forgotten 3: The hills of silence will be released on Spain next 6th of may 2010, by the hand of Norma Editorial. The book will feature around 40 new artworks with four more stories, in 48 pages full color. This book is the third and last volume from Forgotten series. It will be available for sale in stores and online shops. More languages will follow, and I will keep you updated with dates. During next months I will be on several conventions and signing sessions to present the book. Take a look at the events for the next weeks.

Mi tercer libro, Forgotten 3: Las Colinas del Silencio, saldrá a la venta el próximo 6 de mayo 2010 de la mano de Norma Editorial. El libro contiene alrededor de 40 nuevas ilustraciones y cuatro nuevas historias, en 48 páginas a todo color. Este libro es el tercero y último de la serie Forgotten, .
Forgotten 3 estará disponible a la venta en tiendas y online. Habrá varias presentaciones y sesiones de firmas durante los próximos meses, que serán anunciadas en breve. Para comenzar, habrá una presentación audiovisual exclusiva del libro durante el próximo Expomanga de Madrid, que se celebrará del 30 de abril al 2 de mayo 2010. La presentación tendrá lugar el viernes 30 de 18:00 a 19:00 horas. Durante la primera media hora será en la sala multimedia para la visualización del video, y a continuación en escenario para una ronda de preguntas.
También habrá sesiones de firmas el sábado 1. Aquí están las horas y lugares:

Autores en Viñetas

Hello everybody =). I hope you had some great holidays and new year. In my case, after too many big problems with my laptop, I have been without internet for more than a month. That and the current amount of work in my desktop, didn't let me wish you a happy holidays on time or let you know about a lot of news that are waiting for a long time. Now that everything is working all right, I will try to keep you updated during the next weeks ^___^.
Before anything, for all of you that wrote me a message (by mail, facebook or any of my online galleries) and didn't receive an answer yet: I will try to write you back as soon as possible. To be more sure, you can send me your messages again, just in case some of them were lost in the way.
Now, beggining with the news, my first convention of the year will take place on next 24th january, on the I Authors Meeting of "Carmona en Viñetas" (Carmona, Sevilla -Spain-). There will be a talk with me at 19:00 h on 24th january. You can check the timetables and list of authors on their official website.
I will keep you informed about other conventions and meetings of this year as soon as dates are confirmed.

Hola a tod@s =). Espero que hayais pasado unas felices fiestas y año nuevo. Por mi parte, tras varios problemas graves con mi ordenador portátil, he estado sin internet durante más de un mes. Esto, unido a la gran cantidad de trabajo que tengo en este momento, me ha impedido felicitaros antes las fiestas ni comunicaros una serie de noticias que llevan tiempo esperando en el tintero. Ahora que todo vuelve a la normalidad, intentaré poneros al día durante las próximas semanas ^__^.

Antes de nada, aquellos de vosotros que me hayais escrito un mensaje (ya sea por mail o a través de facebook o alguna de mis galerías) y aún no hayais recibido respuesta, deciros que intentaré responderos en cuanto me sea posible. Para mayor seguridad, podéis volver a enviarme vuestros mensajes, por si se hubieran quedado perdidos en el camino.
Empezando con las noticias, como ya se ha ido anunciando en blogs y páginas web, acudiré como invitada el próximo día 24 de enero al I Ciclo de encuentros con autores organizado por "Carmona en Viñetas", que tendrá lugar en Carmona (Sevilla). Habrá una charla a las 19:00 h el domingo 24. Podéis consultar los horarios y la lista de autores invitados en su página oficial.
Os iré informando de otros encuentros y salones a los que acudiré este año a medida que se vayan confirmando fechas.

Agustina Exhibition / Exposición Agustina

One of the activities of the next VIII Comic Convention of Zaragoza (Spain) will be the exhibition Agustina: la historia dibujada, that will feature different visions of the comic Agustina by Fernando Monzón and Enrique Mendoza, published by 1001 ediciones. The exhibition will take place from 25 of november to 19 of december 2009, and one of the sections will show several versions of the historical character Agustina de Aragón, done by female spanish artists.
Fernando and Enrique, two great authors I had the pleasure to meet on last Imagina Málaga, asked me to participate in this section of the exhibition with my own version of Agustina. As in this moment I'm too busy with all my work waiting, I wasn't able to do a better and more complete depiction of this character, so I participate with a quicker and less complicated art piece (that you can see below). Perhaps in the future I will have the opportunity to create a more acurate vision of this spanish heroine which story was always interesting to me :).

Una de las actividades del próximo VIII Salón de Cómic de Zaragoza será la exposición Agustina: la historia dibujada, en la que se mostrarán diferentes visiones del cómic Agustina de Fernando Monzón y Enrique Mendoza, publicado por 1001 ediciones. La exposición tendrá lugar del 25 de noviembre al 19 de diciembre de 2009, y una de las secciones mostrará diversas versiones del personaje histórico de Agustina de Aragón realizadas por ilustradoras españolas.

Fernando y Enrique, a los cuales tuve el placer de conocer durante el último Imagina Málaga, me pidieron que participara en esta sección de la exposición con mi propia visión de Agustina. Como en estos momentos tengo mucho trabajo acumulado, no me ha sido posible realizar una imagen más completa y característica del personaje, de modo que participo con una obra rápida y sencilla (que podeis ver más abajo). Tal vez más adelante tenga oportunidad de crear un enfoque más adecuado a esta heroina española cuya historia siempre me ha resultado interesante :).

Semana Gótica de Madrid - Aclaración

Por un error logístico se ha anunciado que en la Semana Gótica de Madrid estaré presente el sábado 24 de octubre en la Plaza Felipe II de Madrid para una sesión de firmas en la carpa de Fnac. No he sido debidamente informada de esta sesión de firmas y por tanto no me es posible asistir a la fecha y hora establecidas, ya que en ese momento me encontraré en el V Salón Internacional de Cómic de Málaga.

Los organizadores y coordinadores ya han sido informados de este error y han procedido a corregirlo, pero es posible que en algún sitio siga anunciado. De modo que NO estaré en Madrid el sábado 24 para la sesión de firmas. Eso sí, podréis encontrarme allí del 25 al 27, participando en las diversas actividades de la Semana Gótica :).

ImaginaMálaga 2009

From 21 to 25 of october 2009 there will take place the V International Convention of Comic of Málaga, also known as Imagina Málaga, on the Espaciu (Centro de Iniciativas Universitarias, Málaga -Spain-), under the theme "Epic Fantasy or Heroic Fantasy". One more year I will be present as a guest in this convention, that will also count with the presence of several great authors that you will love to meet =). During this week in Málaga I will participate in signing sessions, an exhibition of my artworks and a talk-meeting with the author, between other things.
Also, in this edition of Imagina Málaga, I will receive the Best Author Award for Forgotten II. The ceremony will take place on Friday 23 of october from 19:00 to 21:oo h. To know more about the convention, the guests authors and the agenda, check out their official website.
The convention of this year is also very special for me, because I had the opportunity to do this year's poster in collaboration with the great artist and better friend Juanjo Ryp. It was a great experience to be able to work with somebody who I admire a lot and who is a good friend of mine =). You can see the result of this collab in the image upload in the upper part of this post -Pencils by Juanjo Ryp, colors by me-.

Del 21 al 25 de octubre 2009 se celebra el V Salón Internacional del Cómic de Málaga, también conocido como Imagina Málaga, que este año tendrá lugar en el Espaciu (Centro de Iniciativas Universitarias), bajo la temática de "La fantasía épica o fantasía heróica". Acudiré como invitada un año más a este evento, que contará con la presencia de muchos autores interesantes que no os podéis perder =). Entre las actividades en las que participaré en este evento destacan sesiones de firmas, una exposición de algunas de mis obras y una charla-encuentro con el autor.

Asímismo, en esta edición de Imagina Málaga recibiré el Premio a la Mejor Autora por Forgotten II. La ceremonia de entrega de premios tendrá lugar el Viernes 23 de octubre de 19:00 a 21:00 h. Para más información sobre el Salón, los invitados y el programa, consultad la página oficial.
Este Salón de Cómic de Málaga es además muy especial para mí, ya que he tenido la oportunidad de realizar el cartel del evento en colaboración con un gran dibujante y mejor amigo, Juanjo Ryp. Ha sido una magnífica experiencia poder trabajar junto con alguien a quien admiro y aprecio mucho =). El resultado lo podéis ver en la imagen del cartel expuesta arriba -dibujo realizado por Juanjo Ryp y coloreado por mí-.

I Gothic Week of Madrid / I Semana Gótica de Madrid

From 24 of october to 1 of november 2009 there will take place the I Gothic Week of Madrid, on Plaza de Felipe II (Madrid - Spain). This first convention about gothic culture will have lectures, exhibitions, workshops, short films and much more. I will be there as a guest on 25, 26 and 27 of october, so you can find me there =).

On Sunday 25, from 19.15 to 20:30 h, I will present with the great artist and friend Javier Trujillo the opening of an exhibition of gothic illustration that will show some of our artworks. You can enjoy the exhibition from Sunday 25 of october to Sunday 1 of November.

The same day 25, just after the opening of the exhibitions, there will be a talk about Gothic and Neodark Illustration, in which I will be part with Javier Trujillo, Elena Romea and Luis Conde-Salazar Infiesta. Del 24 de octubre al 1 de noviembre de 2009 se celebra la I Semana Gótica de Madrid, en la Plaza de Felipe II. El evento contará con conferencias, exposiciones, cortometrajes, talleres y mucho más, todo ello dedicado a la cultura gótica. Acudiré en calidad de invitada los días 25, 26 y 27 de octubre, así que podréis encontrarme allí =).

El domingo 25, de 19.15 a 20:30 h, presentaré junto a mi colega de profesión y buen amigo Javier Trujillo la inauguración de una exposición de ilustración que contará con algunas de nuestras obras. La exposición permanecerá abierta desde el domingo 25 hasta el domingo 1 de noviembre.

El mismo día 25, inmediatamente después de la inauguración de las exposiciones, habrá una charla coloquio sobre ilustración gótica y neotenebrista en la que participaré junto con Javier Trujillo, Elena Romea y Luis Conde-Salazar Infiesta.
